To ensure equality of opportunity for all pupils to participate in all aspects of school life such as school trips, clubs and activities such as cooking

 

 

  • Carry out risk assessment for school trips, allowing all pupils to participate.

  • Investigate and implement possible clubs either at lunchtime/ after-school by using the pupil's voice as a source of ideas.

  • Review the curriculum to allow for pupils to experience different learning opportunities

  • More clubs up and running either at lunchtime or in the afternoon.

  • Improved attendance of pupils attending clubs

  • School trips planned and implemented each term for both KS1 and EYFS

To ensure that all parents are happy to come to school, take part in school events and feel they are able to raise concerns about their child or about the way they are treated as a member of the school community and do not feel they are discriminated against in any way.

 

  • Continue with the open door policy

  • Regular newsletters and communications to go home via book bags, email and on the school website

  • Arrange a meeting with parents when necessary

  • A faith newsletter to be sent home termly and shared on the school website

  • Parents are invited to key events that take place throughout the year. For example, a celebration service, leavers service, Christmas performance and workshops, cake sales, coffee mornings etc

To develop pupils' understanding of cultural diversity and tolerance of differences in culture and religious beliefs through positive experiences of different cultures, traditions and languages.

  • Review the curriculum to ensure diverse subjects are covered.

  • Plan and deliver a global / diversity week

  • Review current resources to allow for teaching of diversity, eg. Books, toys,

  • Review and monitor stories and religions covered in collective worship

  • Include key celebrations/events from other faiths, e.g. Chinese New Year, Diwali, Hanukkah in the curriculum.

  •  Develop links with an international or another school locally
